Foret Wins the Supersport in Monza

Foret Wins the Supersport in Monza

Press Release Issued By Press Office Sidi Sport (May 13, 2008)

May 13th,2008 – Sidi Sport pilots in both road racing and motocross had an intense and exciting weekend. In the Italian Grand Prix held on Sunday May 11th on the track at Monza, Fabien Foret rode his Yamaha to victory in the Supersport category race. It’s the Frenchman’s first win of the season. Fourth place went to the Australian Andrew Pitt, who is hoping for an overall World Championship in the category.

Staying on the Monza circuit, the Italian Alessandro Polita came in an impressive third in the third World Cup race for the Superstock 1000 class, confirming himself once a gain as a serious contender. Unfortunately, there was a terrible crash involving 12 riders on the first curve, stealing chances for victory from such riders as the three Sidi aces, Tiberio, Pirro and Corti.

In motocross, during the Bulgarian GP, Tony Cairoli put on the usual show. Coming in first in race 1 and in the midst of a beautiful duel with Searle, in race 2 the unlucky man from Messina was stopped by a fall that forced him to start again from last place. An unexpected glitch that denied the World Champion a victory in the final results of the GP, but that cannot cast a doubt as to his superiority over his adversaries in the MX2 World Cup.
