The startling manner in which Lorenzo has mastered his MotoGP machine reinforces the argument that the riders with two-stroke GP bikes in their blood have an advantage. The guys with four-stroke backgrounds, which would include former champ Nicky Hayden, Collin Edwards and James Toseland, are certainly fast on occasion, but the advent of the 800cc limit really seems to have played to the strengths of the former 250cc champions and contenders (Stoner).
