Torres finishes 8th in Aragon WorldSBK Race2; while the WorldSSP race sees both MV Agusta Reparto Corse by Vamag’s riders pulling out after 7 laps, De Rosa due to a technical problem and Badovini because of a contact with another rider.
WorldSBK – MV Agusta Reparto Corse Team
After ending up 4th in the morning warm-up, Jordi Torres showed up at the start of the final race of the weekend looking for a good performance after the crash with Camier in Race1.
When the lights go out, Torres sprints from the tenth position on the grid staying stable into the top10 group and trying to impose his own pace to fill the gap from the first. Unfortunately, a problem with the braking system limits his comeback and when it waves the checkered flag he closes 8th, only 0,3s from the rider in front of him.
WorldSSP – Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse of Vamag
Raffaele De Rosa starts very well from the second row and leads the race in the first position. He has been passed by 4 riders but he is able to stay close to the leading group, turning with times equal to the first riders, aiming to get back the leadership of the race. Unfortunately, the Italian rider’s comeback is interrupted after seven lap due to a technical problem on his F3 675 machine.
The bad luck affects Ayrton Badovini as well, who falls a few seconds after his teammate’s retirement due to a contact with Niki Tuuli, while he was fighting for the top10.
Jordi Torres – After the bad luck of Race 1, at least we can say we have finished this second race. The mechanics did a great job setting the bike back after yesterday’s crash, allowing me to run a fair race despite the problems of vibrations with the braking system. In four days we will be in Assen, for the fourth round of the championship, the circuit is one of those that most fit my bike’s characteristics and we expect a good race.
Raffaele De Rosa – It was a real pity. The bike was fine and I felt I had the chance to fight for the top. But I am satisfied with the work the team is doing with the bike, because we improve at each session and we are always more incisive. Fortunately, the next race in the Netherlands is really close and I hope to repay my team with a good result.
Ayrton Badovini – After a bad start we were coming back really fast and my race pace was very similar to the front rider’s one. Finally, we have found a good setting. Too bad that I suffered a contact with Tuuli that made me crash at turn 7. Anyway, I really appreciate he has apologized. Now I just need to stay focused on the next race, where we will try to get some better results.
