The opening round of the WSB series completed last weekend has to have some observers wondering whether the series rule change allowing 1200cc v-twins was a mistake. The new Ducati 1200 scored three of the top five finishing positions in Race 1 and four of the top five finishing positions in Race 2. Ducati riders (Bayliss and Biaggi) stand first and second in points after Round 1.
Obviously, it is too early to tell whether Ducati will continue to show this kind of dominance. We shall see. Round 2 will be held at Phillip Island next weekend.
