DuHamel Likely To Ride This Weekend At Brainerd

Miguel DuHamel, the rider who has won more races than anyone in AMA Superbike history, and the winner of this years’ Daytona 200, is expected to shock fans and competitors by returning to racing this weekend just eight weeks after re-breaking his femur at Road Atlanta on June 6.

DuHamel, who was still in the midst of recovering from a horrible injury sustained last year, high-sided at Road Atlanta, causing him to re-break the same femur bone he broke last year, just above the end of a rod placed in his leg.

There is no doubt that DuHamel is a tough guy, having won both the Daytona 200 and the Daytona 600 Supersport race without being able to walk properly or put full weight on his left leg. Fighting through pain, DuHamel was still rounding into shape when he had his accident this year.

If DuHamel does race this weekend, it would mark the return of the only rider who consistently challenged Anthony Gobert for wins during last years AMA Superbike series.
