Alex Criville (Honda) took pole for Sunday’s Imola 500 Grand Prix, just edging out American Kenny Roberts (Suzuki) who had the second fastest time during qualifying.
Alex Barros (Honda) and Carlos Checa (Yamaha) were third and fourth in qualifying, while local favorite Max Biaggi (Yamaha) could only post the seventh fastest time.
In 250 qualifying Olivier Jacque (Yamaha) bested Loris Capirossi (Honda) to take pole, while Valentino Rossi (Aprilia) was third fastest in qualifying for Sunday’s GP at Imola.
