The Milan show this week lost plenty of its lustre when Honda and Yamaha debuted their year 2000 models in advance of the show (Honda at its dealer show in the United States and Yamaha on the internet). Now, Kawasaki and Suzuki are indicating that their significant new models will be shown at the Paris show in a couple of weeks, not at Milan this week.
This year’s Milan show was shaping up to be the most significant venue for the debut of new motorcycle models in recent memory, but it won’t pan out. Although many significant bikes will debut at Milan (primarily European models) the Japanese manufacturers are simply using other venues to debut their significant new models.
Kawasaki’s ZX12R is expected to be shown for the first time at Paris, along with Suzuki’s redesigned GSXR models.
