Would Yamaha really replace its venerable V-Max with a v-twin? At least one European publication suggests the answer is no. The v-4 engine configuration in the current V-Max (virtually unchanged for 15 years) is beloved to the V-Max cult, and it would be sacriledge to change this.
So, is Yamaha about to introduce a 2000cc v-4, V-Max replacement? It would make sense for Yamaha to stick with this engine configuration even if it also introduces a v-twin power cruiser based on the MT-O1 concept (see our article dated October 28, 1999). Time will tell.
