In a sadly ironic follow-up to yesterday’s article on the dangers of Supercross
racing, we learned this morning that FMF Honda 125 racer Danny Smith broke his collarbone
in a practice crash Tuesday.
Smith, who was mentioned in my Anaheim article as the only 125 rider to consistently jump
the huge quad jump in the 125 main, was second in the points standings after the first two
Anaheim races. He is added to an injured list which already includes Jeff Emig, Casey Johnson,
Ezra Lusk, and several other prominent supercross riders. Smith is expected to be out for at least
6 weeks.
