If this is beginning to sound like a broken record, it’s not my fault. Blame Jeremy McGrath. McGrath (Yamaha), with another excellent start, pulled away to victory again tonight (his sixth of the season) in the AMA 250 Supercross event in Atlanta, Georgia. David Vuillemin (Yamaha) kept McGrath honest until two-thirds through the event, and even gained on McGrath up to that point, but McGrath then pulled away and cruised to a ten second victory over Vuillemin in second, with Kawasaki’s Ricky Carmichael in third.

Stephane Roncada (Yamaha) duplicated his victory of last week by dominating the Atlanta 125cc final after early leader Ernesto Fonseca (Yamaha) crashed. Roncada was joined on the podium by Honda’s Brock Sellards and Kawasaki’s Nick Wey. Fonseca ultimately finished in fourth place.

McGrath’s lead in the 250 points race is now quite substantial, at 25 over second place David Vuillemin. Honda’s Brock Sellards has a two point lead over Yamaha’s Stephane Roncada in the 125cc East Coast contest.
