Young Guns Ricky Carmichael (250) and Travis Pastrana (125) Show the Way at Daytona Supercross

Team Chevy Trucks Kawasaki’s Ricky Carmichael sure chose the right time to break out of his winless streak in 250 Supercross. He dominated the most prestigious Supercross race of the year (perhaps the most prestigious motocross or supercross race of the year anywhere in the world) at Daytona Beach, Florida today, leading every lap of the race and pulling away from the pack to lap riders all the way up to third place. Yamaha’s Jeremy McGrath finished second, with Yamaha’s David Vuillemin third.

Honda riders Sebastein Tortelli and Mike LaRocco finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the 125 main event, 16 year old Suzuki star Travis Pastrana claimed his first AMA Supercross victory, with Honda’s Brock Sellards in second and Kawasaki’s Nick Wey in third.

Points leaders remain the same in both divisions, with Jeremy McGrath leading the 250 championship series and Brock Sellards leading the 125 East Coast championship series.
