Several reports on the internet indicate that Greg Albertyn has been seen practicing lately at Glen Helen motocross track here in San Bernardino, California. The first report indicated he was practicing on Thursday of last week (April 20). If true, this would put Albertyn back in the saddle less than two months after his femur break. That would be absolutely incredible — it normally takes three and one-half to four months before a rider can even begin to think about serious training after breaking his femur.
We expect to see Albertyn this weekend at the Temecula Motorsports’ open house, and we’ll conduct a brief interview and provide some follow-up information at that time. Albertyn, of course, is Suzuki’s defending AMA 250 Outdoor National champion. The opening round of this year’s AMA 250 Outdoor National championship occurs on May 14 at the Glen Helen track.
