Following the regular qualifying sessions that were dominated by Japanese locals, Colin Edwards and Noriyuki Haga, two WSB regulars, stepped up to take the top two spots in SuperPole for Sunday’s Sugo round of the WSB series.
Several riders dipped below the prior lap record for a Superbike. Troy Corser (Aprilia), who took pole at each of the first two rounds in the series, ended up fifth after SuperPole.
