Multi-time World Motocross champion Stefan Everts, as you probably know, was injured just prior to his first season in the 500cc class of the World Motocross championship. Switching from his 250 two-stroke to a Husqvarna four-stroke in the open class this year, Everts was looking forward to taking yet another World championship. He badly broke his arm, however, and has encountered difficulty in the healing process.
Reports indicate Everts was operated on a second time within the last week, grafting some bone from his hip into his slow-healing arm. Everts will probably end up missing the entire World championship series — a shame considering his great talent and his desire to showcase his talents on the open class four-stroke.
If the graft takes quickly, it is possible that Everts will ride the last few rounds of this year’s championship series.
