Well, the good news is that the weather was dry at Sears Point yesterday. The bad news is roadracing was considered too dangerous nonetheless.
Apparently, the Sears Point track seeps water in at least two locations, and it was doing so yesterday. Some riders, including Kawasaki’s influential three-time AMA Superbike champion, Doug Chandler, considered the conditions too dangerous to race. The AMA, still stinging from recent criticism regarding its track safety policies, decided to postpone the race indefinitely — hopefully to be rescheduled later in the year.
If you travelled to Sears Point this weekend, you had a frustrating experience — just like many riders did.
