Kawasaki’s Ricky Carmichael bounced back to win both motos yesterday at the Budds Creek 250 Outdoor National Motocross race in Maryland. After taking a fairly comfortable victory over Suzuki’s Greg Albertyn in the first moto, Carmichael had a fantastic dice with Honda’s Sebastien Tortelli in the second moto — passing Tortelli on the final lap.

Carmichael was first overall on the day, with Tortelli second and Honda’s Kevin Windham third.

In 125 action, Yamaha’s Stephane Roncada won both motos, while Suzuki’s Travis Pastrana finished second in both motos. Third place in moto one went to Honda’s Brock Sellards, with Kawasaki’s Tallon Vohland taking third place in moto two. Roncada looked very fast yesterday, and Pastrana could not run his pace.

Carmichael retakes the points lead with Tortelli second. In the 125 class, Roncada stretches his points lead over second place Steve Lampson (Honda).
