Honda’s Miguel Duhamel is officially back — winning today at the Brainerd AMA Superbike National. Duhamel caught a bit of a break when Ducati’s John Kocinski (starting from pole) chunked a tire badly early in the race. Kocinski was in a three-way battle for the lead with Duhamel and Suzuki’s Mat Mladin when the tire went.
Finishing behind Duhamel in second was Mladin, who stretches his points’ lead in the championship race. Third went to Yamaha’s Jamie Hacking.
In 600 Supersport action, Kawasaki’s Eric Bostrom turned his pole position into victory over second place Kurtis Roberts (Yamaha) and third place Jamie Hacking (Yamaha). Bostrom and Roberts are tied for the series points’ lead.
