Kawasaki’s Ricky Carmichael stretched his lead in the AMA 250 Outdoor National Motocross Championships yesterday by taking the overall victory in Washougal, Washington. Carmichael finished second in the first moto, behind Yamaha’s David Vuillemin, and first in the second moto. Vuilleman went 1/2 for second overall, while Suzuki’s Robbie Reynard went 7/3 for third overall.

Honda’s Sebastien Tortelli, finishing fourth overall for the day, drops to a total of 22 points behind Carmichael in the championship points’ race.

Meanwhile, in 125cc action, Suzuki’s Travis Pastrana took the overall victory with 3/1 moto finishes, but he ended up with the same points on the day as Yamaha’s Stephane Rondada (1/3). Roncada therefore maintains his points’ lead in the championship race over Pastrana. Kawasaki’s Tallon Vohland finished third overall (4/2)
