The web site Motociclismo has tested the 2001 Honda CBR600F4i (available as both a sport tourer and a sport model in Europe). This is essentially the same machine that will go on sale here in the United States next year.
Here is a link to the ride review of the new F4i. Unfortunately, it is written in Italian. Our translation indicates a very favorable review, particularly with regard to the motor and the handling. The new F4i, not surprisingly, is much more nimble than last year’s model — due, primarily, to the lighter wheels and brakes. Although the bike changes directions quickly, Motociclismo felt the Yamaha R6 might still be a bit more “flickable”.
Motociclismo also praised the motor, indicating that usable thrust was available in the mid-range, and that a very strong rush of power occurs up top — right through 14,500 rpm.
We hope to have the opportunity to test the U.S. version of this new Honda soon. For now, you may want to try Italian translation software, such as that available from Alta Vista.
