If the trend away from World Superbike factory support continues, and the major manufacturers aim all their development dollars at four-stroke GP machines, where does that leave regional superbike series like the AMA Superbike series and the British Superbike series?
If development stops on 750cc class superbikes at the factory level, regional series will either have to switch formats, develop their own machines, or ride outdated equipment. Manufacturers will not spend significant funds developing machines that are not raced in world championship competition. It will be interesting to see how this whole thing evolves, but this could lead to rule changes in regional events, as well.
