Reports, both in Japanese and French publications, have surfaced of new, big-bore street bikes. The trend towards larger displacement machines will reportedly continue with a 2000cc V-Max from Yamaha, and a 1400cc retro standard from Suzuki. The Suzuki will reportedly use a version of the Hayabusa motor.
Suzuki is apparently reacting to the displacement and horsepower war in the standard/naked bike classes by pulling out its big gun, i.e., the Hayabusa engine, and stuffing it into a standard-style chassis.
Artists impressions of these machines, as well as a proposed Yamaha power cruiser, can be found at the following French site.
