These are pictures of Bultaco’s Matador street single, employing a VOR engine. This is a prototype that was displayed recently in Europe. The Bultaco name is a venerable one, known in the U.S. primarily for its dirt bikes from the 1960s and 1970s. This is an interesting design, because it is not really a “motard”, but appears to employ off-road forks.
This prototype is another example of the resurgance of small, European brands. As you may know, Aprilia thought enough of the Laverda and Moto Guzzi brands (both of which were on the verge of bankruptcy) to purchase them and develop plans for massive investment in new product utilizing those brand names.
