According to Motorcyclist Magazine, the current Honda CBR929RR should get a displacement boost next year to roughly 1000cc.
The horsepower and torque wars in the open class are being won by Suzuki and Yamaha at the moment (with Suzuki on top). It is not surprising that Honda will bump its displacement to be more directly competitive next year. Expect styling changes, as well (the CBR600F4 received major updates after its second year of production and the CBR929RR is completing its second year of production).
