Carmichael (250) and Langston (125) Dominate Millville Motocross; Pastrana Quits Season and MX des Nations Team

Kawasaki’s Ricky Carmichael continued his march toward his sixth National championship today at Millville, Minnesota with 1/1 moto finishes, ahead of Yamaha’s Tim Ferry (3/2) and Suzuki’s Kevin Windham (2/3). Carmichael could wrap up the title next week.

In the 125 class, KTM’s Grant Langston won both motos convincingly and took the overall over Kawasaki’s Michael Brown (3/2). Langston and Brown are now the only combatants for the 125 National championship, as Suzuki’s Travis Pastrana quit during the first moto and announced he would not race the remainder of the season. He also said that he would withdraw from the Motocross des Nations team. When questioned, Pastrana stated his head injuries were not bothering him, but he had been following doctor’s orders by not training, and was not in the condition necessary to race competitively.
