Carmichael (250) and Langston (125) Take Broome-Tioga Motocross National Victories; Carmichael Crowned Champion

Ricky Carmichael rode to a flawless overall victory today (1/1) at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center in Binghamton, New York, and clinched his sixth National championship (including two 250 Outdoor National championships in a row). With one round remaining in the championship series, Carmichael reportedly will switch to the 125cc class, presumably to help Mike Brown in his championship efforts for Kawasaki. Suzuki’s Kevin Windham (3/2) and Yamaha’s Tim Ferry (4/3) were second and third overall on the day, respectively.

Grant Langston won both motos in the 125 class to stretch his points lead over Kawasaki’s Mike Brown to nine with one round remaining. Brown finished second in each moto, with Yamaha’s Larry Ward (5/3) finishing third.
