Vuillemin (250) and Stewart (125) Win San Diego Supercross

Yamaha’s David Vuillemin continued his winning ways at Round Two of the AMA Supercross series held in San Diego, California last evening. After passing Suzuki’s Travis Pastrana a few laps into the main event, Vuillemin held on to take the victory over a second place Pastrana, with Honda’s Mike LaRocco finishing third. Ricky Carmichael (Honda) returned and raced despite a sore hand resulting from last week’s crash. Although Carmichael won his heat race, he was passed by LaRocco in the main event and finished fourth. Jeremy McGrath (Yamaha) had another miserable night, getting lapped and finishing tenth.

Kawasaki’s Bubba Stewart became the youngest rider in history to win an AMA Supercross event by taking Round Two of the Western Region 125 championship series. Stewart held on to defeat Yamaha’s Rodrig Thain.

Round three occurs next Saturday evening back in Anaheim, California.
