In one of the most exciting 250 supercross races in memory, Yamaha’s David Vuillemin made a last-lap pass of Honda’s Ricky Carmichael to win in Indianapolis. Carmichael finished second, while Kawasaki’s Stephane Roncada finished third.
An early battle between Carmichael and Suzuki’s Travis Pastrana ended when Pastrana went down following contact with Carmichael in the middle of the race. Carmichael was aggressively booed on the podium for this incident.
In the 125 class, Yamaha YZ250F-mounted Chad Reed took the victory over Kawasaki’s Mike Brown. KTM’s Grant Langston won his heat race, and looked fast in the main, before crashing out of the main event (he was unhurt).
