After defeating Honda’s Ricky Carmichael last weekend in Indianapolis, Yamaha’s David Vuillemin has boosted his championship hopes considerably. Not only does he have a huge points lead (18 points on second place Mike LaRocco and 28 points on third place Ricky Carmichael), he now has the confidence that can only come from defeating a healthy Carmichael (from behind, no less).
Vuillemin has shown great consistency, winning three races (out of six) and finishing on the podium in every race. He will be hard to catch now (with ten races left), even for Carmichael.
