Carmichael (250) and Reed (125) Win at Minneapolis Supercross; LaRocco Breaks Wrist

Honda’s Ricky Carmichael won his third 250 Supercross main event of the season last evening in Minneapolis. His teammate, Ernesto Fonseca, finished second with Yamaha’s David Vuillemin finishing third. Vuillemin continues as points leader in the 250 class.

Coming into the event, Honda’s Mike LaRocco was second in points in the 250 class, but his season was ended by a wrist injury. LaRocco was hit from behind by Suzuki’s Travis Pastrana in the whoop section early in the main event. Pastrana also retired a lap later (uninjured).

In the 125 class, Yamaha’s Chad Reed won for the second week in a row, despite a painful groin injury suffered in practice prior to the event. KTM’s Grant Langston finished second. Reed has a perfect 50 points after two East Coast 125 events, and leads the series.
