Yamaha’s David Vuillemin
According to Internet reports, including one from Editor Donn Maeda who was at the scene, David Vuillemin crashed this morning while warming up for a photo session with TransWorld Motocross Magazine, suffering a concussion. Reportedly, Vuillemin was able to remove his own helmet, but couldn’t remember what happened. Vuillemin’s YZ250 reportedly kicked sideways coming off a jump face, causing him to go over the bars. His girlfriend has taken him to receive medical attention.
Vuillemin, of course, is Yamaha’s factory star who now leads the AMA 250 Supercross series by 20 points over Honda’s Ricky Carmichael. Fortunately for Vuillemin, this is a rare week off from racing — before the Daytona Supercross next weekend. Hopefully, Vuillemin will be able to race at full strength next weekend. Carmichael is already the clear favorite on the brutal Daytona circuit (which is a hybrid between an outdoor track and a supercross track).
