As indicated in a press release received earlier today from OMS Ltd., Honda’s Nathan Ramsey and Yamaha’s Tim Ferry will be competing this weekend at the Daytona Supercross.
Ramsey, who suffered a Grade 2 separation of the shoulder at Minneapolis, was on the sidelines for the Atlanta round. Some serious rehab work with legendary supercross trainer Jeff Spencer and Ramsey says he’s good to go for Daytona.
“I think I’m just as strong as before the injury,” said Ramsey, who’ll run the Universal Studios/Honda CRF450R four stroke on the sandy Daytona track. “If anything, I thought I might be a bit behind mentally, but I’m looking at it like ‘Hey, I only missed one race and I’ve had a little break.’ So really, I’m probably better off than the guys who’ve been racing the whole time.”
For the Florida-based Ferry, it’s been a couple weeks of home-cooked meals and training hard to get ready for his return aboard the Yamaha YZ426F. As you recall, Ferry injured his chest at Phoenix and has been on the mend for the past several races.
Ferry’s been back on his bike, training, for about 3.5 weeks and definitely feels like he’s got his A-game going again.
“Everything’s great,” said Ferry. “I’m riding great, chest and knee feels fine and I’m really looking forward to not only racing at Daytona, but being competitive as well.”
