Honda’s Ricky Carmichael held off Yamaha’s David Vuillemin to win in tonight’s AMA 250 Supercross main event in Irving, Texas. Carmichael stretches his lead over Vuillemin in the championship series to 27 points. Carmichael can wrap up the championship next week in Salt Lake. Finishing third this evening was Jeremy McGrath (Yamaha).
Travis Preston (Honda) won the 125 main event — his second West Coast 125 main event victory this year. Chris Gosselaar (Honda) finished second. Preston takes the West Coast 125 series points lead away from Kawasaki’s James Stewart, who had multiple crashes in the main event and finished in sixteenth position.
