Honda’s Ricky Carmichael clinched the 250 Supercross championship by winning in Salt Lake this evening. Yamaha’s David Vuillemin finished second in the race, and will be second in the championship, despite one round remaining. This is Carmichael’s second straight AMA Supercross crown, and his first championship since switching to the Honda factory team this year.
In the 125 class, Kawasaki’s James Stewart won the main event convincingly, but the West Coast 125 crown goes to the second place finisher this evening, Travis Preston (Honda).
Next weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada is the final round of the 250 series, and the East/West 125 shootout.
