Round 9 of the 2002 AMA/Chevy Trucks U.S. Motocross championship was held yesterday at Washougal, Washington. Honda’s Ricky Carmichael continued his incredible, perfect season with another two moto wins, and the overall win at Washougal. Carmichael’s teammate Natham Ramsey finished second in the first moto, with Yamaha’s Tim Ferry third. In Moto 2, Ferry took the second place position, with Kyle Lewis (Honda) third.
In the 125cc class, James Stewart took the overall win with 3/1 moto scores, while Larry Ward (Yamaha) finished second overall with 1/3, and Brandon Jesseman (Suzuki) finished third overall with 2/2.
Carmichael has a massive lead, of course, in the championship, while Stewart has a simply huge lead. Take a look at the official AMA/Chevy Trucks U.S. Motocross champion site for further details and points.
