Rumors are swirling, and at least one Swedish journalist confirms, that Husaberg manufacturing will be closed in Sweden — only to be reopened in Austria. The status of 2003 models is in question, as well.
If we have any Swedish readers who could update us on this situation, we will post further information here. The marriage between KTM and Husaberg (KTM owns Husaberg — for those of you who don’t know this fact) has always seemed strange to us at MD, because they directly compete with one another in the MX/off-road markets.
The rights to act as U.S. importer of Husaberg were recently sold off by KTM to an independent entity. This fact would seem to confirm that Husaberg will go forward, but when and where? Stay tuned.
