In perhaps the most exciting battle ever in the World Superbike championship, with one point separating them at the beginning of the day, Honda’s Colin Edwards and Ducati’s Troy Bayliss traded the lead in both races at Imola today. Edwards won both races by a small margin over Bayliss and is crowned the new World Superbike champion. Ducati’s Ruben Xaus finished third in each race.
