After Aprilia’s acquisition of Moto Guzzi last year, its chairman Ivano Beggio, declared his love for the historic marque, and his intention to invest funds necessary to restore Moto Guzzi to its rightful place. Basically, Aprilia has intended from the beginning to quickly breathe new life into Moto Guzzi, whose engines and chassis are severely dated.
Maintaining the traditional, longitudinal lay-out, expect new, liquid-cooled Moto Guzzi’s (at least one, and perhaps more than one new model) on display in Milan in September. Don’t be surprised if Aprilia lavishly styles these machines — aiming for MV Agusta elegance, with a Moto Guzzi twist, of course. Pictured above is one of the concepts shown by Moto Guzzi in Munich a month ago (with an existing, air-cooled motor) that hints at one of the directions stylists are heading.
