If you follow automobile technology, or even scooter technology, you know that new transmissions are on their way for motorcycles. Automatic transmissions have been tried in the past, but new designs are more efficient and practical for motorcycle use.
Don’t expect to be stuck with an automatic, however, because options such as paddle shifting and mode selection (e.g., sport, economy, and touring) should be available, as well.
We are not going to predict how soon, or in which models, these transmissions will be available, but don’t be surprised when you see them.
