According to Roadracing World, Bonneville Salt Flats legend, and motorcycle land speed record holder, Don Vesco, passed away today in San Diego, California after a battle with cancer.
Vesco first ran a motorcycle at Bonneville in 1955, and was still after top speed records (this time in a car called Turbinator) earlier this year. Vesco was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in July of 1999.
