It took three rounds, but Honda’s Ricky Carmichael finally won his first supercross of the year tonight in Anaheim, California. Mike LaRocco (Honda) and Sebastien Tortelli (Suzuki) finished second and third, respectively. Carmichael’s teammate, Ernesto Fonseca, was injured and removed on a stretcher. We have no word on his condition at this time.
In the 125 class, Kawasaki’s James Stewart won his second straight main event, with Andrew Short (Suzuki) and Billy Laninovich (KTM) finishing second and third.
Carmichael takes the points lead in the AMA Supercross series ahead of Chad Reed, who finished sixth on the evening. Stewart takes the points lead in the 125 Western series.
