Ernesto Fonseca had a big get-off during the 250cc main event at the high speed approach to one of the triple jumps. The crash left Fonseca laying mid-track in excess of 5 minutes while his condition was assessed by medical staff. Initial complaints of soreness along the spinal column prompted medical staff to place a neck brace and stretcher him off the track enroute to the x-ray machine.
A reliable source we contacted at Honda reported that the results of the x-rays revealed no broken bones or other internal damage. Our source also said that Fonseca likely would be able to race next week at the San Francisco round. This is very good news to hear and we wish him a speedy and complete recovery.
