When we started MD, we didn’t have any test bikes. We didn’t even have any readers . . . so, I suppose it made sense that we didn’t have any test bikes, either. We had a passion for motorcycling, and, occasionally, we showcased beautiful new machinery with a photo gallery and not much else.
Well, over the years, MD has grown a very large and loyal readership, and the test bikes are here. The Mondial Piega is not among them, and we don’t expect to receive one any time soon.
Mondial has a website with plenty of details — some interesting and some boring. Here are some of the photos of the Piega. It is Italian, except for its Japanese heart (an Honda RC51 engine tuned for 140 horsepower). The dream of the Piega, and its execution (largely in carbon fiber and titanium) is purely Italian.
