Expect A Lot From Kawasaki In 2004

Rumors are beginning to swirl about product offerings from various manufacturers for the 2004 model year, and Kawasaki is expected to introduce a number of significant new, or redesigned, models.

Although we have nothing official from Kawasaki, just about everyone is expecting a ZX-10R. On the street side, we might also see a smaller-displacement naked bike — perhaps a 600cc (or 636cc) version of the Z1000. Also, the Mean Streak power cruiser could receive a version of the Vulcan 1600 engine, and other significant upgrades.

On the dirt side, Kawasaki has already announced a jointly-developed (with Suzuki) 250cc four-stroke motocross machine. A 450cc four-stroke could be on its way, as well (developed independent from Suzuki). Finally, the 250cc two-stroke motocross machine that received an all-new chassis last year should receive an entirely new engine in 2004.

Kawasaki may have even more tricks up its sleeve, but these are the rumors we are hearing, at this point.
