Yamaha’s Chad Reed won his fifth straight AMA 250 Supercross main event this evening in Salt Lake City, Utah ahead of Honda teammates Ricky Carmichael and Ernesto Fonseca, who finished second and third, respectively. With five straight wins, Reed closes to within ten points of Carmichael in the championship race as they enter the final round in Las Vegas, Nevada next weekend.
In the 125 Western Region main event in Salt Lake this evening, Kawasaki’s James Stewart took the victory over second place Billy Laninovich (KTM) and third place Eric Sorby (Kawasaki). Stewart clinched the Western Region championship at the last round, and finishes the series with a huge points lead over the Honda of Travis Preston, which finished second in the series race.
