On a dry track, Yamaha’s Chad Reed won his sixth consecutive 250cc main event in the AMA Supercross series earlier this evening in Las Vegas, Nevada, but Honda’s Ricky Camichael, by finishing second in Las Vegas, won his third AMA 250cc Supercross championship, and ninth AMA National championship (a record). Finishing third on the evening in the 250 class (for the sixth week in a row) was Honda’s Ernesto Fonseca. Reed ends the year with eight AMA Supercross victories in total, while Carmichael had seven.
In the 125 East/West shoot-out, Andrew Short (Suzuki) took the victory ahead of Ivan Tedesco (Yamaha) and Michael Byrne (Honda). Kawasaki’s James Stewart crashed out of the race. Stewart was taken from the track on a stretcher. There was no word on Stewart’s exact condition at press time.
