After starting fifth on the grid, Honda’s Valentino Rossi quickly took control of the Jerez MotoGP, and eventually took the victory with a comfortable margin over second place Max Biaggi (Honda) and third place Troy Bayliss (Ducati). Suzuki’s John Hopkins delivered a seventh place finish — showing that the Suzuki is moving forward in its development.
