Race Two Winner Ruben Xaus
Pier-Francesco Chili (Ducati) and Ruben Xaus (Ducati) won the first and second race at Laguna Seca, respectively. Chili won the first race after being involved in a first lap crash that resulted in a restart, as well as injury to Kawasaki’s Eric Bostrom (dislocated shoulder and thoracic compression). WSB points leader Neil Hodgson (Ducati) finished second in both races, with James Toseland (Ducati) third in race one and Chris Walker (Ducati) third in race two. Hodgson still has a massive points lead in the WSB series (he could wrap up the title at the next round).
