Brian Deegan, of Metal Mulisha fame, won arguably the biggest freestyle motocross event at the X Games yesterday, by taking home the gold medal in the “Big Air” competition. Deegan, the “bad boy” of a sport that is arguably full of bad boys, may have taken the mantle from Mike Metzger (who didn’t compete due to injury) and Travis Pastrana (who won gold Saturday evening in the freestyle competition, but did not compete Sunday, and rarely competes — often because he is injured).
