On a day when Valentino Rossi announced he is leaving Honda (he is still being coy about where he is going, but it is almost certainly Yamaha), Rossi rode impressively to victory on his Honda at the Valencia MotoGP, finishing ahead of second place Sete Gibernau (Honda) and third place Loris Capirossi (Ducati).
American Nicky Hayden (Honda) will succeed Rossi as Honda’s number one rider next year. Hayden crashed on the fourth lap while running with the lead group.
