A brief visit to the Kawasaki supercross test track in Corona on Friday revealed Bubba Stewart is testing the 2004 KX125 (he also had a pretty heavy crash in the whoop section while we were watching — he rode away, but looked shaken). This would seem to confirm rumors that he will be racing a two-stroke in the 125cc supercross series next year, rather than Kawasaki’s new four-stroke KX250F. This will surprise many industry observers, who have begun to expect racers to automatically prefer four-strokes in the 125cc class. Stewart, of course, has raced two-strokes his entire life.
